Sustainability
Liverpool Film Office champions low-carbon production practices across world-class locations, studios and local supply chains.
Whether you’re shooting in our city centre, coastline or traditional docklands, we offer local guidance, sustainable suppliers and on-site support to help reduce your production’s footprint.
Over the past 5 years we are extremely proud to have established LFO as a national leader in greener production practices, achieving an 80% score on the BAFTA albert Studio Sustainability Standard at The Depot, with 100% of LCR Production Funded productions since 2022 complying with albert standards for sustainable production, both at our stages and on location in our region.
In order to achieve this, we continue to prioritise productions that meet sustainability standards and have established partnerships with key green industry suppliers including Sunbelt Rentals as we continue to develop a network of environmentally conscious service providers.

Liverpool – The World’s First UN Accelerator City for Climate Action
In 2024, Liverpool was named the world’s first UN Accelerator City for climate action, recognising the city’s commitment to decarbonise both the live music and screen sectors. This global recognition positions Liverpool as a leader in sustainable creative industries – with Liverpool Film Office following our city’s best practices of embedding decarbonisation into the fabric of our work.
Initiatives around reducing the reliance of diesel generators on set and upskilling the next generation of sustainability coordinators and managers on productions were outlined in the first year as Accelerator City, and we continue to work to develop production methods in the greenest and most sustainable ways possible.
