New cast confirmed for return of Safe House with filming in Liverpool
Filming on a brand new series of ITV crime drama Safe House is to begin later this month in Manchester, Liverpool and Wales.
Stephen Moyer (True Blood, The Bastard Executioner and the upcoming Fox drama series Shots Fired) will take the lead role in the 4 x 60min series produced by Eleventh Hour Films.
He stars as ex-police officer Tom Brook who runs a police safe house, which stands by the edge of the sea on the rugged coastline of Anglesey.
He’s joined by actress Zoe Tapper (Mr Selfridge, Lewis), with the drama written by Ed Whitmore (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, He Kills Coppers) and Tracey Malone (Rillington Place), and directed by Marc Evans (Hinterland, Collision).
Eleventh Hour Films Head of Development Paula Cuddy (Strike Back, Wallander) will executive produce alongside company founder and Managing Director Jill Green (New Blood, Collision) and Andrew Benson (Strike Back, Prime Suspect) will produce the new series.Safe House also stars Dervla Kirwan, (Injustice, Blackout), Jason Watkins (The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, The Secret), Sunetra Sarker (Casualty), Ashley Walters (Top Boy, Cuffs), Sacha Parkinson (Mr Selfridge, The Driver) and Joel MacCormack (Wolf Hall).
ITV’s controller of drama Victoria Fea and head of drama series Jane Hudson have commissioned this second series.

The first series starred Christopher Eccleston and was filmed in the Lake District. It aired last year and averaged 6.5m viewers, winning a 24% share of its slot.
