Sophie works to support new entrants and crew who are starting out in the industry, providing them with job opportunities and training through the Action! programme. Through community outreach and tailored career development courses, Sophie is opening doors to make the film and TV industry more accessible to those in the North. For Sophie, the rewarding nature of this project is built on the concept of nurturing the skills of the next, new Northern workforce.

A love for film was born from her fond memories of watching The Great Escape– a firm favourite of both her and her dad, which is and will always be best watched at home, tucked up all cozy with a hot chocolate! Steve McQueen aside, Sophie feels most akin to Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) of Gilmore Girls, empathising with her witty character and real passion and drive to do well in her career.
