Our region’s relationship with film and television spans over a century, from the Lumière Brothers’ filming Liverpool Scenes in 1896 to iconic productions like A Hard Day’s Night, Chariots of Fire, Boys from the Blackstuff, Brookside and Bread, through to The Batman, Peaky Blinders and This City is Ours. This rich heritage has provided the foundation upon which Liverpool Film Office was founded in 1989 as the first film office in Europe.
