“Ahhh Liverpool. There aren’t enough words in the world to describe what a wonderful filming experience we had during our time there. The staff at The Film Office were the most professional, helpful and friendliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. They went above and beyond on many occasions to make our requests possible”
Lee Robinson, Producer, Photo Number 6 Australia

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
“Liverpool is a wonderful place to film – the locations, the people, the welcome we felt and support we had when making Fantastic Beasts in the city was second to none”.
David Yates, Director, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
READ MOREI do not think it would have been nearly as easy nor retained the look and feel the director was after had we shot it elsewhere- Having had plenty of experience shooting throughout the UK, I can say that the integrated structure of the Film Office within the council makes a real difference- streamlining the whole process and ensuring that you get all the information you need clearly and quickly which was especially important in this case.
I will certainly be returing to Liverpool and will be recommending it for any project on this scale.

Utopia
“Liverpool is an incredible city to film in. The locations are stunning. We have found nearly 100 different locations all of which look amazing. The architecture within the city, the dock areas and the surrounding countryside has combined to give us an incredible backdrop for our series. No other city in the UK could have provided us with such a palette to work with. Liverpool is served well by its Film Office. Unique within the UK as part of the city council not only do they understand filming but also the intricacies of the needs of the city. From this position they are able to help us navigate the regulations and oil the wheels that often make filming so difficult. We will definitely be coming back”.
Bekki Wray-Rogers, Producer, ‘Utopia’ by Kudos Film & TV for C4 2012

Jack Ryan/Maryland
“On behalf of August Street Films, the Location Department and personally I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help and assistance with ‘Jack Ryan/Maryland’. It was a very large and busy shoot with a complicated set up and the usual last minute requests and schedule changes. We felt fully supported by the Liverpool Film Office at every step of the way and you gave assistance above and beyond what might have been expected from a filming authority. It was a professional and very knowledgeable service that contributed hugely to the success of the shoot. Your input was a major factor in the smooth running of our shoot”.

“I have worked in many parts of the country, and I can honestly say the service you provide at the Liverpool Film Office is the best in the country, and if only all the film offices could operate like yours, then location managers far and wide would be extremely happy. I sincerely hope that the Liverpool Film Office can prosper and encourage more large-scale productions to the region in the future. The Producers were extremely happy with how it all ran and they have asked me to also pass on their thanks to you as well. Once again thank you so much for all your support, it really would not have been possible without you”.

Go on Lad – Hovis Commercial
I considered where I was going to find all those locations in one place and Liverpool had them all. We were able to kill 12 birds with one stone. The ad is brilliant. It gave me goosebumps, it is beautiful. The blitz scene is particularly special. Falkner Street was brilliant for the World War I scene. I brought the ad out of London because I knew Liverpool would deliver.

Across the Universe
It goes without saying but it still needs to be said, we couldn’t have done it without you! What a great team Liverpool has. The film office, the police, the traffic management, the various council departments, all the people who made great efforts on our behalf. I know the Americans who worked on this film will be back and I know they will spread the word.
I look forward to working with you all again in the future. Thank you again.
